Overview
We are looking for a researcher who combines a strong foundation in economics with the ability to work independently with data, identify meaningful research questions, and translate economic analysis into clear and policy-relevant findings.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop their own research agenda while contributing to NEST Centre’s broader analytical work. We are particularly interested in research related to the Russian economy, including, but not limited to:
- structural changes in the Russian economy since 2022;
- fiscal and monetary policy;
- public finances and government spending;
- sanctions and their economic effects;
- trade, imports, exports, and economic reorientation towards non-Western markets;
- productivity, investment, and technological development;
We are also open to other research questions that can contribute to a better understanding of the current Russian economy.
Requirements
- A degree in economics or a related field; a Master’s degree or ongoing PhD studies in economics or a related field would be an advantage.
- Ability to identify, collect, clean, and analyse data from different sources.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of Russian sufficient to work with Russian-language sources and datasets.
- Previous publications are welcome but are not required.
