US Strategic Communications Coordinator

Overview
NEST Centre is hiring a US Strategic Communications Coordinator.
The core of the role is preparing our US spokespeople for media interviews, briefings and stakeholder meetings. You will work with NEST Centre experts and a wider communications team to turn our research into clear, compelling material for American lawmakers, Hill staff, policymakers and journalists.
Responsibilities
- Prepare talking points, briefing notes and other materials for our US spokesperson.
- Adapt NEST Centre research for different US policy and media audiences.
- Follow US news, congressional activity and policy debates on Russia.
- Keep US-facing messaging timely and consistent.
- Coordinate with NEST Centre’s wider communications team.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Russia, supported by a degree in Russian or Eurasian studies or equivalent experience.
- A good understanding of the US political system and how Washington approaches Russia.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to work quickly.
- Strong editorial and political judgement.
- An understanding of media communications, including message discipline, soundbites and how US outlets work.
- The ability to tailor material for different audiences. A Senate staffer, television producer and print journalist will each need something different.
- Experience in fact-checking and verifying sources.
- Discretion when working with sensitive material.
- Availability during EST working hours.

Selection process
