Salavat Abylkalikov is a demographer and Philipp Schwartz Fellow at the University of Regensburg, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Previously, he was a Cara Fellow at Northumbria University in the United Kingdom. He received his PhD from HSE University in Moscow, where he taught until 2023. His research focuses on migration processes and the demographic consequences of the war for Russia.
