A member of the Executive Board at the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center since May 2021, Valeri Chechelashvili was a career diplomat from 1989. He served as Georgia’s Minister of Finance in 2005 and First Deputy Foreign Minister (2005–2007). He was Ambassador to Ukraine and Moldova (1994–1998), Ambassador to the Russian Federation (2004–2005), Secretary General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation (2000–2004) and Secretary General of the Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM (2007–2016).
